Just to let everyone know, we have finally sprung forward. We are now 6 hours ahead of all our friends and family in the middle of America aka (central time zone). So if you decide to call, be sure to add 6 hours to your time. I really was enjoying the 5 hour difference. Could some of you move to New York so I can call you an hour earlier in the morning??? Just kidding! For those of you we haven't been talking to - please set up Skype!!! It really is awesome (and free).
Here are some new British vocabulary words that I (we) have come across so far:
plasters = band aids the song "I am stuck on plasters cause plasters stuck on me"
courgettes = squash
boot = trunk of car
bonnet = hood of car
groundnut oil = peanut oil
loo = toilet = bathroom (toilet sounds rude to me- "Where is your toilet")
pants = underware So when it's raining outside and you say my pants are wet you get really strange looks
trousers = pants (our word for pants)
nappies = diapers
tea (white) = tea with milk
tea (black) = no milk
chemist = pharmacy
surgery = doctor's office
washing up liquid = dish soap
